Dawn theme - collection page - read more

DAWN THEME

customize Theme / collection default page
I show collection description (sometimes short, sometime long texts) and collection image.
some of my texts in collection page are too long. I would like to have have a simple text "read more".

I saw these solutions:

But I do not want a graphic button, but simple text.

@kbac  you will need to make change to description of the each product if you use the solution above, if you have many products then it becomes difficult

I am speaking about the collection description text

a lot, more than 200. I do not understand the question and/or the relevance.
I am speaking about the theme default "collection page". I show the image and description of this collection. Some texts are long, so I want a read more button.

@kbac - yes, you will need to go to collection back end and for each collection with long description you will need to apply the solution given above. It will be a simple button and not graphic design.

There is one default theme, so only one page to modify.

But I do not want a simple button as it does not fit the design of Dawn, I would like something non graphic, just a text

@kbac  yes, no default theme, need to edit each collection description from the backend, design the button like you want using CSS

I do not understand what you are talking about...sorry it you are misunderstanding me...

There is no way of changing any collection description as they come from an external source.

I want to change the collection default page in way that the text is not shown in full when it is too long, and there is a "read more" text link shown.

@kbac  - which external source are you using? is it coming via an app? if it allows to edit the external source then in that case collection template liquid code needs to be edited which will restrict the description, but this will do for each and every collection

I want to change the theme NOT the collection data. The product and collection data is coming from an external source.

It is a design question, not a question about altering data.

@kbac  I think you did not read a reply above, it clearly says - collection template liquid code which means MODIFICATION OF DAWN THEME COLLECTION TEMPLATE

I still don't understand - why do you ask "how many collections?" then?
If it is a modification of Dawn theme, it does not matter if I would have 5 or 5000 collections with a long text.

Anyway, I am still looking for a solution.
The linked solution is for a graphic button, I want a text link.
