Dawn Theme Phone View Banner

Hello, I modified my Dawn theme by adding the code to make Image 1 show on desktop and Image 2 show on mobile.

The problem is, this works only when "Adapt section height to first image size" is unchecked - once I check it, the image size on the phone view gets tumbled. 

I need the "Adapt section height to first image size" checked on for my desktop version hero image, how can I prevent it from affecting the mobile view?
