Dawn Version 2.1 - Updating Imported and Customised Theme

Hello, 

We had external developers build our website a few years ago and no longer work with them. 

Our theme is Dawn 2.1 and recently have noticed that some of the uploads, edits and formatting are no longer working. I understand this is because the theme is way out of date, however, we cannot automatically update it as the theme was imported via a zip file. 

We have been told by Shopify support that there are two options: 

1. Get the original developer to adjust the custom codes so they work with the latest Dawn theme.

2. Install the latest version and manually transfer over the site and customisations. 

So, I would like to ask: 

Firstly, are these the only two options available? If so, which is recommendable? 

Secondly, if it is the second, how hard is this transfer as the team doesn't have any developers within it? 

Thirdly, if it is possible for the team to do it ourselves, are there any instructions or guidance avaiable on how to do this?

Hi @LiberationFood as y9ou have version 2 and now its version 15 running so edit that old is not an option at all. all you need is to setup it on new theme. instead of Dawn you can also explore other free shopify theme like Crave or sense, you can easily set them up and edit it is customizer. unfortunately to copy the exact same design you will definitely need a developer. i can help you in customizing the new theme.
