Shopify themes, liquid, logos, and UX
Hi. I am working on a site that is going to have several Markets.
Based in Australia, but soon to start a US market.
That is all set up with an alias domain for customers from the US.
The problem is that when a US customer goes to the site using that domain, it goes to the default Home page, with all the Australian content. When I try to edit it, it says I need a JSON template. So, I created one and applied it to the landing page designed for the US. That all looks good, but the Alias Domain still goes to the default Home Page Template.
We want to simply have the US Market customer go to a home page dedicated to them. With their own menu, etc.
I am happy to edit the theme code, but I am unsure how to do it or even if it can be done.
Bump this to the top - Same issue I am having right now. Multiple markets, multiple alias, all lands on the US homepage. Any help from the community would be great.
Bump this please.
It's easy to alter a lot of the website now to suit various markets but the most common use case is that some products are available in one market and not in others. However you can't change the header / menu system depending on which market you are in which means all the links in your main market header go to 404 pages in any market where they link to a product / collection not available in that market. Surely this is fixable but I've been trying for the last 2 days to find a workaround with no luck.
Hi, have you found a solution please? Thanks.
Yes, in Shopify if you change the market in the dropdown from the editor to the one you want to change you can adjust and customize these sections, pages, pdps, etc. etc. for each market directly in Shopify. (At least PLUS can). So we currently have a UK home page, a CA home page, a US homepage, and then an out of market homepage. Based on your IP address it will show you content and pages built to those markets.
