Disable auto-selecting of the first available variant for a main image DAWN Theme

hello 🙂

I've recently moved over to the DAWN theme. I'd like to disable the auto-selection of the first available variant and rather have the landing image be a featured image with a group shot of the product. I have found this tutorial (https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/online-store/themes/os/customize/add-pick-an-option ) which seems to be useful for other themes however it does not directly give instructions to do the same for Dawn.
Please! Any help would be much-appreciated xx
