Disable or modify Shopping cart to email ordering

Hello everyone, it's been a while.

I have a site for my client who does not want to activate the online payment system yet.

The store is set up for information only.

My questions are:
1) How do I disable or hide the basket option from each page so the customer can not proceed to check out?

2) Is there some way to modify the check out process so that instead of going to a payment page the customer emails the contents of their basket to a sales email account?

3) Is there a way to have only a pay at pick up option ( not pre-paid)?

4) Can I place a contact us button on each page? They would then have to contact us via email.

Thanks in advance.

Wow! Thanks so much for taking the time to reply with such concise and easy to follow instructions. I'm not a coder so I don't want to so anything that would screw up the site or any other plugins I have.

I'm really hoping these solutions work because you're saving me a lot of stress and making my client happy.

I'll look into these and let you know what happened.

Cheers

I'm still working on your solutions. Is there anyway to back up the site before I make those changes and are they reversable?

Also not sure how to " comment out or remove the relevant HTML"

I'm struggling to find that app to Send Order Email.

Can you please suggest one?

Lucid,

My customer wants to go with pay at pick up.

I'm trying to follow your instructions but I running into some snags.
I'm building this through Shopify Partners. Once I have the site tuned up, I will then transfer it over to my client. I have not connected any bank information to the account ( as it is in the build mode)
1) I've tried to add a pay at pick up as per you directions what I'm getting at checkout is redirect to a" this store isn't set up to receive orders" page.

Lucid thanks again for your help.
I found this:

Payments - see all other providers- Third-party payment providers - (for testing) Bogus Gateway

But I am still having issues with activating the test provider. I'm getting email notifications that I've changed the payments

method, but when I try to test it, I still get the" not set up  to..."

I’d love to help you sort this out. Let’s work through a few steps to get everything running smoothly:

Double-Check Test Mode Settings:

  • Navigate to Settings > Payments in your Shopify admin.
  • Locate the “Manage” option under the payment providers section and confirm that Test Mode is enabled.

    Verify Your Provider:

    • Ensure you’ve selected a test payment method like the Bogus Gateway or the appropriate test provider.
    • Once selected, make sure to hit “Save” to lock in those changes.
      Clear Browser Cache/Use Incognito Mode:
      • Occasionally, browser issues can interfere with updates. Try clearing your cache or testing in a private browsing window to see if that resolves the issue.

        Review Recent Changes:

        • If you’ve made updates to your payment methods recently, ensure the test provider hasn’t been accidentally overwritten or deselected in the process.

          Testing a Transaction:

          • Add an item to your store cart, proceed through checkout, and use a test credit card number from Shopify’s test payment documentation to confirm everything is functioning properly.

If the issue persists, could you provide a bit more detail about what’s happening?

Once I have a little more context, I’ll be able to assist further! Don’t worry, we’ll get this resolved together.

Best regards,
Lucid
