Download new theme without carrying over any previous settings

Hello, I am trying to download a new paid theme straight as it is out the box. I have been using a free theme so far and made a few customizations, however I don't want this to be carried over to the new paid them. Is there a way I can download the new paid theme as it is "out of the box"?

Hi,

If you already purchased it, the theme will be available to download from Online Store > Themes

Click on Actions near your Theme name and select 'download theme file'

But does this download the original default template? I am trialing it and my customizations have carried forward

Yes, it will download the original version of the theme

@rjmclean to clarify are using the duplicate action on your current theme?

If so follow smalltask advice to download a fresh theme from the shopify theme store.

Hi Paul, no I'm not using the "Duplicate" action. Rather a brand new theme that I would like to use with the original default settings, not the customizations I made carried over. Follow "smalltalk"?

My absolute frustration and no one has the answers. No one in support or anywhere else and you just keep going in circles. You’d think there was some way to do something so simple. I hope the big wigs at Shopify can create a function that will allow you to refresh your theme. It’s ridiculous that they haven’t done this!
