Edit an existing discount to add specific collection so that sales can't be used with coupon

Hi there looking for some help please. For BF I am trying to reconfigure my discounts by collection so that I can NOT ALLOW any additional discount/coupons whilst the sale is active (using a third party app to move the price to compare and the discount price as the buy price).

This means that any discount codes currently live can be used additional to the sale which i dont want (50% then becomes 60% for example).

From what I read the only way to do it is by collection and tags. I don't seem to see a way to 'edit' a live discount code to add a specific collection in my case 'allows-discount' which I will remove all products for black friday period.

Can anyone help please? there seems no easy way to run a sale and not allow adittional coupons during the sale period 😞

I understand that you're looking to disallow discounts for a Black Friday sales event as you'll be discounting all of the products using a third-party app. Instead of adjusting the collections or products within the discounts, you can simply deactivate the discounts. Once all of the discounts are deactivated, the discount box will no longer appear in the checkout. When the sales event is over, you can simply reactivate the discounts.

That being said, I'd love to hear more about your business and share some resources to help you get started. What kinds of products are you selling? Do you have a marketing plan prepared for your store?

Although this may seem like a good option, my problem is I have many apps making coupons (email sign up, affiiate marketing) so to know what to reactive and what to not activate would't work. It would be simple if there was only a few but there isn't 😞

It does make things a bit more challenging if you also have other apps creating discount codes and coupons. However, I believe taking a couple of screenshots of the current active discount codes and deactivating the discounts may still be a bit easier than adjusting the collections within each discount - especially if the discounts contain different products. You may be able to deactivate the discounts that you created on Shopify, and then explore the third-party apps for any options to temporarily disable the discounts or only adjusting the collections that's involved with the third-party apps. 

That being said, I think your store looks amazing and very professionally designed. While there isn't a whole lot I can suggest to improve upon, I did notice that the currency selector was somewhat blocked by the rewards widget and it seems the right corner could be more suitable. 

Have you considered using something like Shopify Inbox to interact with customers live on your store and provide an inbox for them to leave messages?
