Where can I change the labels/text for the "sort by" dropdown? (featured, new to old, etc....) I also want some options removed. Is the code to do this successfully located in one file or multiple files? Thank you.

Hi @TantiBaci

You can easily do that just Follow these steps

  1. Go into your Shopify Admin
  2. Online Store
  3. Themes
  4. click the "..." button/menu next to your theme
  5. select "Edit Default Theme Content".
  6. At the top of the page, search for "sort by" and then it should bring up the option that you can edit to remove the colon (then save changes).

I changed the labels successfully. I also wanted to know where the code would be located to remove or hide options, and if it is in multiple areas, or one. Thank you.

Welcome, what do you mean by multiple areas?

Where is the code (or instances of code, if there are) located to omit the options for the "sort by" dropdown? I don't understand why this isn't being answered by anyone. It is a straightforward question. In the second reply to my initial question, it wasn't answered, I was told it had to be changed with code and to supply my store URL. I am well aware there needs to be a code change. This wasn't an answer to my question. I was asking to be pointed in the correct direction. Now I realize it should be in the default theme content based on the first response. Thank you.

To remove some options, it can be done using CSS code. However, I’m not entirely clear about what you mean by 'multiple areas.' Are you referring to other collection pages? If something is removed on one page, it will be removed from all collection pages. To remove it from specific pages only, a developer’s help would be required.

Additionally, please understand that developers answer questions at their discretion. If your question hasn’t been answered, it’s likely because they choose to help when and how they can. If you’re waiting for another developer, that’s perfectly fine—it’s their free will.

I realize this will affect all pages, that is basic. So this can be done entirely by editing CSS??? Really? I am familiar with this. Where would the CSS be located? I need to be pointed in the correct direction. That's all. Thank you.
