Shopify themes, liquid, logos, and UX
I’ve only got two products I’m selling on my site. When ever I change the layout of one product page it changes both product pages at the same time. How do I make it so that they not connected?
I’m using Refresh theme
this never used to happen before, it’s only a sudden thing maybe I’ve changed a setting by accident🤷♂️
Hi @Nedsko,
You can totally create a different template for each product within the theme editor:
1. From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes > Customize
2. Select Products from the page selector then click on Create template
3. Edit the template then save it.
Next, you'll need to assign products to each template:
From your Shopify admin, go to Products.
Use the search filter to locate the product that you want to change, or click on the product from the list of existing products.
In the Online store section, use the dropdown menu to select a new theme template to apply to the selected product.
Click Save.
You can refer to this Shopify guide.
I hope my answer helps.
Hello AvadaCommerce
It's a very nice explanation, but you lost me completely on how to assign a template to only one product. I feel like point 2 has nothing to do with point 3. I would be very happy, if you could maybe elaborate a little. Thanks for the help anyhow
Kind regards - Trendy House
Did you ever figure this out I'm going through the same, and I'm stuck trying to figure out why this is happening
I'm having the same problem, and this response is not helping at all.. like what r you talking about that did not answer her question at all.. I will have to take my business elsewhere.. yall don't even have a number to contact for help 🙄 😒
Gentleman's, you just have to go to your product page after creating/saving the template.
So after u made this "3. Edit the template then save it." Just go in your product list, select the one and assign to the template that u have created. (Tip: is a sidebar named as "Theme template")
Cheers
I've been searching for a solution, none of these worked for me. I did figure it out a way but it is a process. Here is what I did for my 16 pages!
Open your Shopify Store in 3 tabs
Tab 1 > Online Store > Customize> On your Website, click on your header Menu> Click on the page you want to change (Ex: Home, Clothing, Shop)
>Click the drop down menu at the very top of your navigation page (You should see Home Page, Products Collections) > Pages>Create template>Give your template a custom name (Ex: clothing)>Create template>Change one thing on your page(you can go back and edit everything later)> Save
Tab 2> Online Store> Pages>Add Page> Title (same as template name, Ex: Clothing)>theme template> select the template you made in first tab(Ex: clothing)>Save
Tab 3 >Online Store>Navigation>Main Menu>Edit the page you are trying to change (Ex: Clothing)>Under Name select Pages>clothing>apply changes>Save
Repeat the process for multiple pages
