Editions Theme: Unwanted text string in my shopping cart associated w product variant apps

Hi!  I'm using the Editions Theme and I've now tried two different product variant options apps.   The result is the same.   In my shopping cart, I'm getting a very confusing and unwanted text string referencing the product variant for every product in the cart.   It's really messy and looks bad to the end user.   Is anyone else having this problem or know of a way to resolve?
