HI @harisrouf

After checking, I found that the favicon image retrieved from Google is different from the one currently displayed in your store. Could you let me know the last time you updated your favicon?

Updating content in search results depends on Google's indexing process. Larger websites with high traffic tend to be updated faster, while smaller sites may take longer or, in some cases, may not be updated at all.

To speed up the process, you can:

  1. Re-index your site using Google Search Console.
  2. Create valuable content by regularly publishing blog posts to attract more visitors.
  3. Increase traffic to encourage Google to index and update your content, including your favicon, more quickly.

I hope this helps

Best,

Daisy

Hi @harisrouf

Here are several steps for you to resolve the issue of favicon display incorrectly on Google search console:

1. Update the HTML : please make sure your favicon is correctly linked in your HTML. The typical code looks like this:

<link rel="icon" href="path/to/your/favicon.ico" sizes="16x16" type="image/x-icon">

2. Google search console:

If you have access to Google search console, you can submit the favicon to promp Google to re-crawl your site. It can take a little time for Google to update the favicon in the search result.

3. Clear Cache:  sometimes, Browsers and search engines cache the favicon. You can consider to clear the browser cache and double check.

4. Check the Favicon dimensions:  ensure your favicon is 16x16 px or 32x32px, which is a square image. If it is not square, it may appear stretched in the search results.

I hope these steps are helpful. Let me know if you have any other question.

Liz

I have tried re-indexing the homepage before, changed the resolution to square and the favicon code is linked correcty. Should I just wait till the google re index and update the favicon?

I updated the favicon 3 days ago. I guess I'll have to wait for google to update it. Thanks
