Getting an Error: Cart Error: Your cart can't contain more than 500 items.

Hi, I have a customer that wants to purchase one each of all my metal cookie cutters. I added an app to help with this. The app does add all at once but an error comes up that "Your cart can't contain more than 500 items". I have 600 metal cookie cutters.  Is this the limit of Shopify or is this something I should be looking for in the app? I tried to locate a limit in the code but am stumped. Website is https://americantraditioncookiecutters.com. I am using the Sunrise theme if that has anything to do with it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi, Thank you for your reply. I didn't want to limit the number of products they can purchase. I have found out that Shopify only allows a maximum of 500 line items in checkout. Unfortunately, this particular customer wants to purchase 600 different items. I will have to let them know they will have to make two different orders.

Another option to consider would be the use of draft orders.

This would enable you to create a custom order for the 600 products that you would be able to then process through your payment gateway, or any third-party means (such as cash or bank transfer) and then proceed to mark the order as payment collected/paid.

You'll just have to manually track the inventory on this particular order or product to reflect accurate reports. To avoid doing this, you can also create 2 draft orders and add the accurate number of products to each (to equal a total of 600), then you can consolidate shipping into the final draft order to avoid overcharging your customer.

We can't do more than 250 lines draft order.

How do you create a draft order with 600 lines? Please answer in that post if you think it is better than this post, thanks.
