Shopify themes, liquid, logos, and UX
Hello,
I'm currently developing a Shopify store for a client using my Shopify Partner account. I'm working with a premium theme that’s currently in trial mode. However, I now need to add custom code, which requires purchasing the theme.
I have a few questions regarding the best practices here:
Theme Transferability: If I purchase the theme on my Partner account, will I be able to easily transfer it to the client’s store, or could this create complications?
Alternative Solution: Would it be more effective to work directly within the client’s store instead? I could access their store as a collaborator, purchase and add the premium theme (without publishing it), and handle all customizations there.
I want to ensure a smooth transition and avoid any potential transfer issues. Any guidance or recommended approach would be greatly appreciated.
I would definitely recommend the second option.
1. It's their store and they have the control so this keeps a lot of transparency and hence trust.
2. You save yourself from a lot of headaches as these store transfers can be tricky not necessarily but most probably.
