Help me make Search Bar always visible and stretch across header - Refresh Theme!

Currently there is a magnifying glass button you have to click to open the search bar, I'd like to make it always visible so it's easier to customers to utilize the search function. I have tried multiple previous 'Fixes' I found on here that were from years ago, but it appears the coding has changed since then so I wasn't able to duplicate how others solved this.

I want the search bar stretching across the top - just right of the logo and above the nav links. I am kind of knowledgeable with CSS and HTML5, but I'm not familiar with how to edit this..
