Shopify themes, liquid, logos, and UX
Hi Shopify guru's
I'm hoping someone can help me with what I feel is probably a silly question.
I've had to place all my products into "Draft" for the time being and I don't want people to be able to navigate to my collections via the sidebar as they're now all "empty" because everything is in draft.
But when I go into the navigation area to edit my navigation I only have the option to delete, add or edit. I don't want to have to "delete" the navigation items because the nested layout I've created would take a HUGE amount of work to recreate once I make my products active again.
Ideally, I'd just like to 'comment out' the items in the menu that are not required for the time being and then remove the commented out section once I make my products live again. Is there a way to do this? I can't seem to find any relevant reference to the nav menu anywhere in the code and I'm stuck.
Worst case scenario I can just edit the default page that shows for an empty collection to show "Products coming soon" or something like that.
But I feel the first option would be better as it doesn't frustrate people browsing the site to see a bunch of collections with no products.
Someone, please help. Thanks in advance 😊
