Hide variant in product pages - debut theme

Hi everyone, 

As it is clear from the subject, I am struggling to hide the variant images on the product pages. 

I have already investigated and tried some solutions from other questions asked here, but it didn't work in my store. 

Is there anyone who can help me at all, please?

Please add following code your assets/theme.css bottom of the file.

.template-product .product-single__thumbnails {display: none !important;}

thanks for your detailed reply. 

Generally, I don't want to show to my product pages the variant images as default, they should be available once the customers select the variant. 

This is one example I am talking about:

The main pic should be the video, but instead, customers see the variant images. I want to show just the images I want them to see immediately.

Thanks for your suggestion but unfortunately, it didn't work. It shows just one of the variant images, all the previous ones available are hidden. 

Do you believe there are other possible solutions?
