Home page image gets cut off in fullscreen

I am using the dawn theme, my page looks great in desktop and mobile view but when i go to full screen the images on my home screen look stretched and get cut off. I saw someone having a similar problem and they solved it by adding coding to the theme.css file but i do not have this file, any help will be greatly appreciated!
