How can I adjust the date format in my checkout cart?

Does anyone know how to change the date format to the UK way of DDMMYYYY

The date in the checkout cart shows as YYYYMMDD which is very confusing for UK customers. 

Does anyone know how to change this. I saw forums back in 2018 with may people requesting this. Shopify noting that it would be passed to developers. 4 years later i can not see anything details of this change. 

Can anyone provide any guidance on this please

The date formatting is currently a setting that cannot be changed directly through the admin. I understand how efficient it would be to have this feature available though so I will continue to push this through with our developers.

It may take time for certain features on Shopify to launch on the platform but rest assured that your feedback is taken care of and in the right hands.

It may be possible to change this formatting through editing the theme code however that is not guaranteed. I would recommend looking into hiring a third-party expert to possibly complete this task, you can look through our Shopify Experts for recommendations!

that same answer has been said by Shopify experts for 4 years. 

How can you charge such large values for Themes and your monthly service and not get the date correct and in 4 years since it was first asked, my guess probably longer keep fobbing paying customers off with " we will push it through to developers" ??
