How can I change the size of the featured images in blog posts? Sense Theme

I'm trying to change the size of the featured images for my blog posts. The photos I'm using are 450x450, and I've set the settings thru the theme editor to be "adjust to image" but instead of making the images appear true to size, it's stretching them out across the screen and making them pixelated. 

No matter what I've tried, I'm getting this same result.

Keep always in mind other people are not mind readers they do not see what you see or know what you know.
Always communicate in concrete terms, provide relevant context so other people can understand, inspect or reproduce issues.
