I have a multicolumn section that gives three reasons why people should buy from our store. I want this section to appear on the landing page, the product pages and the collections pages. I want to avoid manually retyping the sections in each template - is there a way to copy&paste a section between templates? Thanks in advance.
Hello @Alun ,
You can copy the JSON from the template but it's not easy either to implement nor to provide instructions for it.
or you can create a section like header/footer in this way it will be available in every page or you can define in code in which pages it will be visible.
Thanks
That would be an advance customization.
No basic way as this one the tradeoff of sections everywhere features so there's flexibility in more situations unlike this one.
To minimize the maintenance of keeping them all in sync if the section allows it use dynamic sources so at least the three instances are pulling info from the same place, so you only need to edit things like text in one place.

Many thanks for the information and your time @PaulNewton and @Guleria . I think I'll have to manually move things across between sections on this occasion
Absolutely, there's a way to duplicate a multicolumn section across different pages like the landing page, product pages, and collections pages without manually retyping them in each template.
While you could manually copy and paste the section's code across templates, there's a more efficient method. An app like Theme Weaver on the Shopify App Store can be a real time-saver for this purpose. It allows you to easily duplicate or move sections between different templates within your theme. This means you can set up your multicolumn section once and then seamlessly replicate it across your landing page, product pages, and collections pages.
This approach not only saves time but also ensures consistency in your store’s design and messaging across different pages. Plus, it eliminates the potential for errors that might come with manual duplication. Hope this helps!
Hi @Alun
Yes, great news! Shopify has recently introduced a copy and paste feature in the Theme Customizer, and it’s exactly what you're looking for. 🙌
You can now copy an entire section, including all its blocks, images, and text, and paste it onto another template. This is super helpful for saving time and keeping your design consistent across different pages.
