How can I correctly add a new link to my navigation bar?

Hello,

I would like to add a new link to my navigation bar called become a stockist. I have added it to the navigation and linked it to a new page but it seems to link to my FAQs page. Please advise.

Hi @StarMintz 

You have added the FAQs to the Pages > Default template in your theme editor. Here is what you'll need to do:

1. Create a new alternate template for FAQ page based on the default template.

2. Apply the new FAQ page template to the FAQ page.

3. Remove FAQ content from the Default template in theme editor.

Since you have added FAQ directly the Default template, any new page you'll create will show same FAQs.

Honestly, all these suggestions to edit the code in the theme template is just plain bad. The last thing you want to do is tinker with the theme codes. It often leads to bigger problems that become more complex to correct.

Hi @StarMintz I have looked into it and it is landing you on the same page which link you have added.

I think you need to create a new Template and then change the template in that page and connect it with your navigation bar.

It will be really helpful if you can specify which link you want to add in the button, because right now you have attached this link: pages/become-a-stockist

If you will unable to implement the same then I'm happy to do this for you, let me know. I can implement the changes so that this will work well for you.

Hi @StarMintz Please follow the steps to create a new template.

• Login to shopify admin.
• Click on Online store.
• Then click on the customize button next to the theme that is live.
• Then click on homepage.

• Now click on the Pages and create template.

• Now add the name and your new template will be created.
