How can I create a menu item linking to a specific product category?

Hi, 

is there a way to create a menu item that points to a specific product category?

If not, can we create a menu heading instead of a menu linking to somewhere?

Example:

- Products

   -product category #1

     -list products in category #1

Edit: I created a collection with the product type and made the menu point to that.

Glad to hear that you were able to resolve this. For anyone else looking to solve this issue, the easiest option is to work with collections and create drop-down menus.I'd suggest working on grouping your products into their respective collections and then linking these groups to our main menu items under Online store > Navigation! The docs below should help with that;

This is indeed what I did, I created a collection that contains a category.

But you can't create from product categories, only product type.
