How can I create multiple listings with different titles for the same product?

Hi Shopify experts,

I am selling car parts which are compatible with many different car models. How can I create multiple listings with different titles for each car model a car part is compatible to with each of them linking to the same product?

For example: at the moment I have listings with titles looking like this:
"Pair of Brake Discs Volkswagen Golf Plus V VI Audi A3 Skoda Octavia II Seat Altea Front Axle": https://www.ridex.co.nz/products/brake-disc-volkswagen-skoda-front

I would like to have multiple listings looking like this

- Pair of Brake Discs Volkswagen Golf Plus Front Axle

- Pair of Brake Discs Volkswagen Golf V Front Axle

- Pair of Brake Discs Volkswagen Golf VI Front Axle

- Pair of Brake Discs Audi A3 Front Axle

- Pair of Brake Discs Skoda Octavia II Front Axle

- Pair of Brake Discs Seat Altea Front Axle

All of them should link to the same product page. There is no need for any variant selection on the product page because the same product can be used for all 6 car models.

Thanks in advance,

Markus

Hi @markus-nz i believe you can create links from the mnu for all this and then select to redirect them to the same product page.

Do you like want to show the listings in the header as menu items??

Hi @Shadab_dev thank you for your reply and for the idea to create links. If I understand you correctly you suggest to create multiple menu entries per product type and car model and link to the product page. I do this already with the filters. I forgot to mention: The main reason why I want to have multiple listings with different titles, different URLs but forwarding to the same product page is SEO. If someone searches on google for a brake discs, for Skoda Octavia II, as far as I understand, they won't find the listing I mentioned above, because the title just too long and Skoda Octavia is not in the first 40 characters of the title.

Not an expert on this but I do understand your concern. Honestly man I am more of a developer with love for coding and not pretty good with these manual stuffs but just wanted to share whatever knowledge I have of this but the good thing is you are already aware of it.

Can you not like create an entirely different menu for these listings and find a way for them to show somewhere?

Thank you for your ideas on this.

I certainly could create a menu in Shopify for this. But for the listings in the google merchants centre this would not help - at least I don't know how I could make this work.

Well then good luck finding a way out of this. Good luck on your store and your business

Unfortunately, Shopify's built-in features don't directly support creating multiple listings with different titles linking to the same product page. However, there are a few workarounds you can consider for your car parts store:

1. Utilize Product Tags and Search:

  • Extensive Tagging: Add detailed tags to your product that include all the compatible car models (e.g., "Volkswagen Golf Plus", "Volkswagen Golf V", "Volkswagen Golf VI", "Audi A3", "Skoda Octavia II", "Seat Altea").
  • Optimize Titles: While you can't create separate listings, consider modifying your product title to mention a few popular compatible models in a concise way.
  • Search Functionality: Customers searching for specific car models should be able to find your product through the search functionality if you have properly tagged them.

2. Leverage Collections and Filters:

  • Create Collections: Organize your products into collections based on car brands or types (e.g., "Volkswagen Brake Discs", "Audi Brake Discs", "Skoda Brake Discs").
  • Implement Filters: Within these collections, add filtering options so customers can easily refine their search by car model.

3. Consider Third-Party Apps:

  • App Marketplace: Explore the Shopify App Store for apps that might offer functionalities for creating variations or dynamic titles based on product tags.

4. Alternative Approach:

  • Single Master Listing: Maintain a single master listing with a comprehensive title and clear information about compatible car models.
  • Detailed Product Description: Within the product description, create a table or list that clearly specifies compatibility with different models.
