How can I enable dark mode for admin on my site?

"Dark mode" 3rd party apps are ok at best and make the site run slow, for the back end/administrator. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE enable a dark mode for admin/back end. My eyes are literally bleeding from the bright white background.

At least, if #shopify wants to be stingy about it, offer it in shopify+... anything is better than their retina burning, current coloration.

I'll explain the steps for Chrome but there is the package 'Dark Reader' for Firefox if that's what you prefer.

Here are the steps for enabling dark mode on Chrome browser. Please don't touch anything else if you don't know what you're doing, I'm not tech support lol

1. Type 'chrome://flags/' into the address bar.

2. Search for 'Dark Mode'

3. I chose 'Enabled with selective inversion of non-image elements' and that seems to work the best.

4. ?

5. Profit

Sir/ma'am/nonbinary, you are a literal hero! I CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH! This works across ALL of chrome on EVERY WEB PAGE! I was also asking for dark mode on Shipstation and this fixed that too. If you ever run for president of the interwebs I will campaign for you!

I was able to add darkmode support to my admin, finally. It uses your device preference. Let me know how it looks, I'll plan on releasing the code although I haven't tested all admin pages yet.

This requires using the stylus browser addon for Firefox or Chrome.
Its only a few lines of css, and I'll keep updating it as needed, as shopify seems to roll in changes every 1-2 weeks.

BUMP!! I'm new to Shopify and one of the first things I looked for is dark mode, I can't believe it's the end of 2023 and this isn't an option yet!! It's such a simple feature, most developers use dark mode when coding so I don't get how they didn't have this to begin with 🧐
