How can I enable dark mode for admin on my site?

"Dark mode" 3rd party apps are ok at best and make the site run slow, for the back end/administrator. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE enable a dark mode for admin/back end. My eyes are literally bleeding from the bright white background.

I have been using this little work around with chrome. paste this into the address bar and press enter chrome://flags/#enable-force-dark

then select Enabled with CIELAB-based inversion, once you have done then click relaunch down the bottom right corner and all websites will be in a dark mode like state.

I ended up using the native dark mode in chrome. This bypasses the auto code swapper extensions and works well enough. Inverting pictures is the only difficulty with this, but it's not annoying enough and I get to save my eyes. ^_^

The year is 2024. My retinas are burning and my Shopify admin UI is still not in dark mode.

Honestly one of the biggest problems with browser dark mode inserters is when i'm editing a page in shopify that has html code in it, the darkmode inserter will insert its code directly into my shopify admin page. So, using those kind of code-scan insert flip colors isn't an option. This is why a native change option so that it already is set when the page loads is the real deal. 😉 😄

We literally throw all this money at Shopify and they can't/wont give us a native dark mode.  Look what I found for you Shopify:🖕

accessibility feature mid-2024. Instead we keep receiving updates and
'quality of life' improvements for admin that quite literally do nothing
but add more clicks to a workflow.

So Shopify has the tech to suss out words like that in a forum response but they can't implement a simple dark mode?

I can't believe there is still no resolution here.  Is there another way to request this sort of feature?  This thread has been going for a long time and it doesn't seem to be a big ask.  Could we start an email campaign or chat at the support staff or something?

Good start!  Just needs to work with the "Theme Customizer" area better.  Right now it just inverts everything, so it breaks the design preview.  Basically if it could just ignore the display area, I think it would work well.
