How can I hide variant images in the Empire theme?

Hi, I just had to switch from a 3rd party theme to a shopify theme because the developer of our 3rd party is no longer available. They had it coded into our original website, see the left side image, but I can't find where they put it in the original code to carry it over into the empire theme. If anyone can help that would be great. It is JUST the varient images we want hidden below the main image,
