Shopify themes, liquid, logos, and UX
Hello. From a recent site audit, I received notice that many of my pages have a low text/HTML ratio. When I view the page source on any given page, https://shopglobalpursuit.com/collections/mens-long-sleeve-tee, for instance, the amount of HTML seems incredible. Is my main issue here that I need to find a way to reduce this amount of code? And, if so, do you have any tips on doing so?
Sorry for facing this issue, it's my pleasure to help us.
Welcome to the Shopify community!
and Thanks for your Good question. 😊
Please share provide further issue screenshot
So I will check and provide a solution here.
Thanks!
For some background: A site audit of my Shopify website showed that of 88 pages audited, every one had a Low Text/HTML ratio, meaning for the amount of textual content on page, there was a very high amount of supporting code. This particular audit recommended a minimum ratio of 1-10, Text-HTML. Most of my pages came in between 1-100 and 1-40, so very bad. For many of these pages, though, I have a relatively high amount of text (my example collection page has about 200 words as its description). Here is a link to the example collection page, and here is a link to the page source of an example collection page. I will also include a screenshot of the audit, with the example collection page highlighted.
For starters, does this look like too much code for a collection page?
What are ways I can reduce the amount of HTML across my Shopify site?
Thank you for any advice.
it was depend on backend code
Does this mean my backend code is bloated?
Should I consider switching themes, maybe?
Hi Sam,
I started to have recently the same problem. I am using Narrative theme, and Semrush is giving me warnings for the whole website. Every page has low txt-to-html ratio. Even my blog posts. I think the only way is to change theme, but I don't see how other themes could look as beautiful with lighter amount of html. I'm also thinking is Semrush working as it should.
I'm having the same issue and I'm not sure how to go about fixing it. Every single page i have has been flagged with this error, also from SEMRUSH. Some of the pages have well over a thousand words but it still flags it.
I have same issue with my website https://brander.sale/products/siobhan-faux-leather-front-wrap-mini-skirt-black
please suggest any other theme which have low backend code.
oh sorry for that issue can you please check your file line code that be easy to idea
I've having the same problem 😕
Have you managed to solved this issue, I know it is very old post/reply
another no response from Shopify - anyone feel like it is a waste of time to add anything to these threads and that Shopify support has no idea how to solve a lot of the issues we experience? The lack of response is crazy. I feel like their boat is starting to sink.
