Shopify themes, liquid, logos, and UX
My Collage images are being forced into preset dimensions. This is causing my left image to crop off the sides and it's becoming a massive portrait oriented image. I'd like for the left image to reflect more natural dimensions without cropping out my photos.
I'm hoping the image can have slightly less height than a perfect square. More of a landscape orientation.
The size of your image isn't exactly working out. Trying experimenting with different sizes as 500px * 500px, 1000px * 1000px until you reach a sweet spot you like. I tried adjusting the size (reducing the height of it) but not sure exactly how you would like that.
Thanks for the reply.
So the size of the image doesn't seem to affect the size of the collection frame. It seems to be coded somewhere, either in themes.liquid, base.css, or collages.css to make the first row equal to double the third row. So no matter what sized image I use, it magnifies it to fill the frame, and crops the rest.
Unfortunately that is how the section is designed to make the height of the first column (i.e the image) to be the same height as the 2nd column.
If you like a different section, I would recommend to go other route. Or you can create a two column image section where both the image heights will be equal no matter what.
I already fixed it in the code. Thanks.
Hey JoshuaFox,
i have the same problem!
May i ask what you changed in the code so it works fine and looks nice? 🙂
Thanks!
Each store might have a different instance of code, and only basic sections. I recommend you to get an app that have many theme sections code that you can choose from or your second option is you hire devs like us who can exactly code the website like how you want. Finnaly, you can also provide some screenshots so community can help out.
