Hi @thefourthplace

To set a social share image, Open the page and upload the image in the featured image section.

Where do I do that? This is a standard Page, not a product. I don't see anywhere on the Page or the custom template to add a Featured Image.

I am attaching screen shots of the config for the Page, and the Template the page uses. I don't see a way to set a Featured Image. Am I just staring at something and not seeing, is it buried, or is it not available for this type of page?

I found the answer in another thread here...

You have to add a metafield to your page for the image and then use the liquid code to check the metafield for the image. It works. 🙂

Hey @thefourthplace

Here's our tutorial for setting your social share image. You need to access your Online Store Preferences and navigate to the Social Sharing Image section. Here you can edit and add both page titles and descriptions which are important for SEO and meta descriptions.

Additionally, be sure to add your logo and branding to relevant areas such as your

  • Header > Logo (preferred)
  • Theme settings > Checkout > Logo

This is where Shopify pulls from in the event that a logo fallback image is required.

Also, consider adding you brand assets into your Shopify admin if you haven't already. This is a great way to unify your brand across multiple sales channels and interfaces. You can designate everything from logos to color schemes.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the assistance, but that's not what I am asking.

I am asking about setting a social share image for a specific page, not the default one.

I'm really surprised this isn't a built in feature. It's been possible on Squarespace and other platforms as a free basic feature forever.

Still not resolved, but there is a paid app available - which means it can be done, and agree that Shopify should make this a standard feature, really important!

You can use an SEO app like SPO. After installing our code snippet, the social meta tags are overwritten by ours. It allows you to set a custom page per product, collection, or page.

It looks like your app offers "bulk edit product link preview". As I said in my post, I am asking about Pages, not Products. Can your app do that without paying $15.99 per month extra?

I'm looking for that too Ian. Had any luck?
