Shopify themes, liquid, logos, and UX
How do I set a social share image for a specific page? (Not a product or collection, and not site wide.)
I have a regular Page with a custom template, on Dawn (Shopify OS 2.0) and I still don't see a way to
To set a social share image, Open the page and upload the image in the featured image section.
Where do I do that? This is a standard Page, not a product. I don't see anywhere on the Page or the custom template to add a Featured Image.
I am attaching screen shots of the config for the Page, and the Template the page uses. I don't see a way to set a Featured Image. Am I just staring at something and not seeing, is it buried, or is it not available for this type of page?
I found the answer in another thread here...

You have to add a metafield to your page for the image and then use the liquid code to check the metafield for the image. It works. 🙂
Hey @thefourthplace,

This is where Shopify pulls from in the event that a logo fallback image is required.
Also, consider adding you brand assets into your Shopify admin if you haven't already. This is a great way to unify your brand across multiple sales channels and interfaces. You can designate everything from logos to color schemes.

Thanks for the assistance, but that's not what I am asking.
I am asking about setting a social share image for a specific page, not the default one.
I'm really surprised this isn't a built in feature. It's been possible on Squarespace and other platforms as a free basic feature forever.
Still not resolved, but there is a paid app available - which means it can be done, and agree that Shopify should make this a standard feature, really important!
It looks like your app offers "bulk edit product link preview". As I said in my post, I am asking about Pages, not Products. Can your app do that without paying $15.99 per month extra?
I'm looking for that too Ian. Had any luck?
