How can I update a theme using only a ZIP file?

Hey, how do I update my theme with only a zip file? I have a new account so I only have the zip file, does anyone know how to do this? Thanks!

Go to Online Store > Themes then at the top of your theme library you will see "Add Theme" Click this then click "Upload Zip File"

hey, I know how to UPLOAD my theme, but Im saying UPDATE, so like my theme is an older version than the newest

Ouch... um, by hand... lmao You would need to upload your new version and then copy your changes from the old version to the new version. Unfortunately, I am unaware of a better way as of right now. 

You could try some type of versioning tool that can display the differences and you just pull the code you created.

If you create a document online, then upload a new version of that document from your desktop that is a new document.

The old document doesn't automagically incorporate all the possible changes you could have made to the new version.

You have to manually transfer changes over.

Generally this is not something you want to do in the online stores basic code editor.

Instead download BOTH your live theme and target update theme to work on them locally.

And use a file difference merge tool like meld.

Teaching the step by steps of a specific theme update process is way beyond the scope of the forms.
