Shopify themes, liquid, logos, and UX
I'm currently using the Sense template, but I ran into an issue. It allows a drop down for product ingredients; however, it applies the ingredients to all products. Is there a way to fix this?
I am having the same problem
Hi! Did you manage to resolve this? I am having the same problem & can’t figure it out! *NEVER MIND, JUST SAW IT WAS SOLVED
I am having the same problem as well, I couldn't find the solution do you mind telling me what the solution was or where it was posted?
Hey Gabi, I’ve been trying to locate the original post that was resolved but I can’t figure out how anymore. The answer is by creating metafields - I’m not sure if that’s helpful enough!
Creating meta fields?? Do you have any more information
see my response below.
Yes I’m having this issue please help Shopify !!

I’m having the same problem it’s so annoying! Help!! How do we do this!!
I've been having the exact same issue for almost 2 months now and I can't figure it out. Does anyone have any updates on how it can be fixed I saw a post on downloading two apps but the apps are "upsell" apps and I don't know how that will help?
I'm not sure if you still need this question answered. I found your post while trying to get an answer to the same questions. I finally gave up and reached out to Shopify support and Mark from support walked me through these steps. I'm going off of memory so, please forgive me in advance if I missed a step. Don't think I did, but be sure to double-check that it works, after testing it on your first product.
Step 1: Log in to shop admin. Click online store<theme<customize
Step 2: At the very top of the page, select “products” from the drop down menu. It is default to “homepage”
Step 3: Click “create template” and give the template you’re creating a name. For example, in my shop all of my body butter products have the same base ingredients, with the fragrance being the only difference. Since this difference does not affect the verbiage of my ingredients list, I named the template “body butter.” If all of your products have different ingredients, you will have to create a template for each in order for the ingredients to appear correctly on your website.
Step 4: Click “create template”
Step 5: Navigate to the top left of the page where it says “preview” then click the “change” link
Step 6: Navigate to the right and you will see a list of all of your products. Select one of the items that the template will be applied to
Step 7: Navigate to the left of the new page. Locate and click on “ingredients” and type your ingredients into the “Row content” box. Note: you will need to complete this same step for the “how to use” field also.
Step 8: Save changes. Before exiting this page I would recommend that you click on the “shipping as well as the return policy sections and make sure those tabs are linked to the corresponding pages on your website. It’s pretty straightforward, once you click on each the only option there will be to select the page you want the tab to link to, if it is not already selected.
Step 9: Exit the customize theme and head back over to the shop admin page.
Step 10: Select products from the admin menu
Step 11: Select the product you wish to apply the template changes to
Step 12: Navigate to the menu to the right of the page and scroll down until you see “Theme template” under the online store area. The default template should say “default product” click on the dropdown and select the template you created for said product.
Step 13: Save changes
After creating your templates, you will need to assign the applicable template to each product in your shop. As mentioned before, if you have products with the same ingredients, create a template that groups those into one, instead of creating one with each product name. It’s a labored task, but it works.
