How do I correctly place the slider element in a featured product slider?

Hello, 

I would really appreciate some help please. I have followed the steps on the official Shopify tutorial for making a featured collection slider.

However, I cant understand where I have gone wrong! I have followed each step and not sure what to do. I have created a Featured collection slider that has 12 products, removed the rows but I just cant understand where I place the slider element. 

Please can someone help?

I am so surprised that a scrolling collection is not a feature of the shopify themes, seeing as there is already the ability to scroll the testimonals and slide shows!

Any help or advice you can offer would be most appreciated.
