Shopify themes, liquid, logos, and UX
When I go into the product page, I do not want to see the mockup image associated with the default variant as the first image on the page. I would like to have the main page's image to be the first image within the product page. I believe this can be achieved if the auto select is disabled for the variant picker (given that the image associated to the first variant is currently being displayed).
Additional info: The theme is Dawn and I am currently using 'Pills' style variant picker. Any changes to the code, will need to also take into account that the customer should not be able to add products to the cart without selecting a variant.
Sorry to tell you that it is mandatory
When entering a product page with multiple variations, auto-selecting a variation is mandatory, if the user clicks the add to cart button, there will be data to add to the cart
If there is no pre-selected variation, adding to the cart will cause an error
Regarding the image issue, add the image you want to display to the first variation
Hi,
Thank you for your reply. But I see others have reached out previously asking for assistance to disable this option (see link below for example) and solution was provided by modify the code. Are you able to help with this?
Unfortunately, changing the image for the first variant would not be a good solution as the customer would not be able to see the actual image for that particular variant then.
Example:
How can I turn off the auto select variant feature in the Dawn theme?
