How do I fix my theme not updating in customize but my website is updating when I save it

It's making it hard to work on the website because it wont update in the customizing editor if anyone have any tips please help

Customizations made directly in code, such as editing .liquid or .css files, might not immediately reflect in the Customize editor if there’s a conflict between the theme editor’s settings and the code changes. Do you have custom code changes?

Another thing to check is the console for errors on the webpage.

I've never made any changes directly in the code, so there shouldnt be any custom codes, and how would I check the console for errors?

Are you changing to the slideshow section? This may be because the JS has not been updated and it is still not displaying properly

I'm not, it wont even let me select the header using the inspect tool unless Im in fullscreen mode but I can select the foot in either mode, this is weird
