Shopify themes, liquid, logos, and UX
I am using the Brooklyn theme and all of the fields for the contact form are blank. How do I add descriptions for them? Specifically I am speaking of the "name, email address, phone, and comment box".
Hi @jharris,
Hyde here from Shopify. Interesting question!
It's strange that your contact fields are blank because details like "name", "email" and so on are usually visible. Have you changed the color of your font? Could the color of the font be camouflaging/ hiding the text? It would certainly help me greatly to help you if I could see a screenshot of what you mean to get a better understanding of what's going on. In the meantime:
You can make edits to Brooklyn's typography in theme settings. You can also edit the font color by going to Online Store > Customize > Theme Settings > Colors > Form Fields.
You can also make edits to the language that appears in your forms by editing the theme language. To do this, go to Online Store > Themes > Action (next to the theme you want to work with) > Edit Languages > Contact.
You can then edit whichever field you like and hit "save" afterward.
I hope this helps! All the best, Hyde.

I'm so glad that helped! However I cannot see the attachment you mentioned, so I'm not sure what the cut-off looks like to diagnose! Have you made any code edits to your store at all or this page in particular? And if you try looking at the page on a different browser/device do you still see the same issue?
If you could include a screenshot in your response I'd be in a better position to help! -Hyde

No I haven't made any changes. Looks like it is only that way on my particular phone for some reason. When I use a desktop I don't seem to have the issue. Strange. Maybe I can try to change my phone settings? Unfortunately I am unable to upload the screenshot. Essentially it cuts off the last letter of each word. The "e" in "Name". The "l" in "Email" and so on and so forth.
Thanks for clarifying that! Yes, the fact that this is only happening on your phone means that your browser on your phone may not be displaying the information correctly.
Could you try clearing your cache and cookies to see if that helps resolve the issue? -Hyde
