Shopify themes, liquid, logos, and UX
Hi guys,
I'm am searching for hours how to change the way you see products when browsing a collection. I don't know how to explain it correctly, but I'll try to show this with some images.
Here you see the Focal theme which I'm using. But when browsing a collection, I want to show more information in the first product overview. Also, I want to have a fixed add to cart button which I can customize.
How do I do this? Are there apps available for this or do I need to add some code?
So two questions:
1. How do I show more product information (or first words of description)?
2. How do I add a fixed add to cart button?
Thanks so much in advance!

Hi, @ecomono!
Welcome to the Shopify Community! Happy to share a little here.
For adding an "add to cart" button to your products on your collection page, some themes have this feature built in and some don't. If the theme you're using doesn't have this feature you can either get someone to help custom code this on your site for you or you can use an app.
One app I've found that does this is called Collections Add to Cart Button; it has a 5.0 star review rating as well.
As for adding a product description to the products listed on the collection page, you'll likely require the help of a developer or Shopify Expert here. I wasn't able to find an app on the App Store that can achieve this - but make sure you have a good look there as well. Coding is outside my scope of support, but you can always hire a Shopify Expert. As well, perhaps another Community user will be able to assist here!
For example, I did find another Community topic where another user was assisted in getting descriptions added using the Brooklyn theme.
Hope this helps!

Great, thank you very much Hilary! I will try to find another app or existing solution to add some description to the products listed on the collection page. I little coding by an expert or dev is no issue, but I thought this would be a more 'basic' option to add directly from a theme or app.
I am new to Shopify, but not to e-commerce. And coming from building everything from scratch, Shopify offers a lot of ease in the themes and apps. So hopefully someone has a good suggestions for the description on collection page.
