Shopify themes, liquid, logos, and UX
Hello,
I am trying to implement a link in my checkout setting on the payment page.
However, when entering the required HTML code I noticed that there are no HTML fields available so it just shows the code.
Do I have to edit the code of the field and if so, please tell me which file I'll have to edit?
Thank you in advance!
To add a link to the checkout page on your Shopify store, you will need to edit the code of the theme you are using. Specifically, you will need to edit the "checkout.liquid" file, which is located in the "Sections" folder of your theme.
Here are the steps to add a link to the checkout page:
Go to the "Online store" section of your Shopify admin and then click on "Themes."
Click on the "Actions" button for the theme you are using and then select "Edit code."
In the left sidebar, navigate to the "Sections" folder and locate the "checkout.liquid" file.
Open the "checkout.liquid" file in the code editor and find the section of the code where you want to add the link.
Add the HTML code for the link, making sure to use the appropriate link URL and anchor text.
Save the changes and preview your store to see the link on the checkout page.
Please keep in mind that editing the theme's code can have unexpected results if not done properly. It's recommended to have a backup of your theme before making any changes and test it in a development store before making it live.
You may also want to consider using an app from the Shopify app store that will allow you to customize the checkout page without editing the code, or hire a Shopify developer to help you implement the link to the checkout page.
Just want to add here that checkout.liquid is only available to Shopify Plus merchants, upon request
