How to customize checkout

Hello,

i want to customize my checkout to add a dropdown for available states in my country location. So that i can integrate with icarry which is a delivery app in lebanon. But i dont know how i can add this dropdown in my theme. Note that i am using the dawn theme.

*checkout.liquid* theme template cannot be accessed by merchants who are
not on the Shopify Plus plan, as editing the checkout's code is a Plus-only
feature.
