How to display a size chart for specific products only?

Hi I have a store that sells clothing and Jewellery. 

Some products need a size chart and I have achieved that by using the Size chart popup in the product pages populated by a meta field page for each separate product. 

However I have jewellery as well and the popup is still appearing but empty because in product description i haven't selected a size page as there is none. So when you click on "size chart" in the store, it shows empty. 

My question is how do I show a size chart for some but not all product?

@emex - this will need bit code editing and manual changes.... if you can put particular tag or add products to a particular collection where you WANT size chart, we can set code to show this size chart on these products only. Other products will not show anything.

Hello @emex ,

I understand you are looking to display the size chart only with the product type (clothes) and do not want to show the size chart with product type(jewellery).

This can be resolved by making changes in the code and for this you have to hire a shopify developer.

However, you can also try an alternate solution. You can use the shopify app for adding size chart only in few product type.

Thank you to everyone who responded. 

In the end, found a different and I believe simpler solution. 

I am putting the solution here in case someone else is looking for a similar thing. 

The solution is that I created a different product template - one including size chart and another not including size chart. 

To create a new product template, go to online store > customize > at the top select "products" > Click on "create template" > Name it appropriately. This is now your new template. Now make the necessary changes for this template. In my case I removed the size chart link. 

Then go to your products > Open a product that doesn't need size, and select the new template you created from the drop-down menu at the bottom right-hand corner of the product page under 'theme template'. And that's it.
