Shopify themes, liquid, logos, and UX
Hi,
We face an issue of unrelevant prices in our shop. On the Collection Page, there's lowest possible price displayed, but on the product page default price displayed is usually higher.
We do have sometimes about 60 price variations per product and the level of price difference can be even 1000$ or higher, so it's a really a problem for us. People see the price, let's say, 2000$ and after a click they see it's even higher, 3700$ or whatever.
So, how can we set the default price displayed on a Product Page to be the lowest possible?

Hey @Jay-C,
It shows the price of the first available variant. Which means your cheapest variant might be out of stock.
On the collections page it's forced to show the lowest price because you can't select variants there. So the price doesn't need to change.
If you follow that same logic over to the product page, it'll always show the cheapest price no matter what variant you select. Which definitely breaks the theme.

Many thanks for your advice!
I thought it won't help, because we don't use "track quantity" feature so there are no "available" and "unavailable" variants.
But I changed the order the options appear in the Option Groups. When they're stacked from cheapiest to most expensive, then price shown as default is the lowest possible.
Thanks a lot!
Hey @Jay-C,
Changing the order fulfills the condition "First available variant" with the cheapest variant. Since you don't track quantity, that will work perfect. Glad it's sorted
