How to efficiently switch from Icomoon to SVG for hosting icons?

Good Day,
Years ago we setup Icomoon to host icons to all shops we manage. Now we want to host icons in each store instead in case we have to transfer them we don’t have to transfer the Icomoon account.
Any experience how to best do this? We have 1000s of icons. Replacing them manually would take a long time.
Couldn’t we simply upload the font that Icomoon generates and replace the Icomoon URL in the theme.liquid file?
