Hello All,
We're trying to update our theme to the new Dawn theme with Shopify 2.0. The images we place for page headers or blog thumbnails seem to all be compressed and very blurry. I've seen other users struggle with similar issues, it seems like it has to be exactly the right size image and if it's too big or too small shopify will stretch out the image and it look terrible. Does anyone know what the specific image requirement sizes are for different placements? (right now all we can find is 3:2 ratio). Or how to solve this issue of blurry photos?
Any resources or advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Hi there,
This is a really good question and I've experienced the same with an upgrade from from Dawn 4.0 to 6.0.2.
It would seem as it there is some over-compression that is having this effect and it could do with being resolved (the image banner element is almost unusable).
The less than ideal solution is to use the slideshow feature within the customiser and not the image banner - for whatever reason, the image compression is not as pronounced and looks a damm sight better!
