How to have a different thumbnail than the product photos

Hello, I have a question/idea but I don't know how to implement it, let's see if someone can help me.

I would like to be able to have a different product thumbnail than the photos on the product page.

That is, the photo of the product thumbnail does not appear when you have already clicked on it and are on the product page.

Here's what I understand with your query. You want to add additional photos in Product thumbnail and want to make them same as product images when click on thumbnails.

Additional product images can be added via a meta field and some code altering to show the meta fields images in the thumbnail.

The thumbnail only as thumbnail, or in the featured collection place, but when the client clicks on that thumbnail, it take him to the product page with the product images (but not the thumbnail image)

Okay so I have understood:

You want to show small product thumbnails on the collection page to direct users to their respective product pages. But the thumbnails should not be product images uploaded. Right ?

But need to be more clear can you share a reference site ? 

Although this is a custom request can be set via meta field you will need developer help to set this up in your store.

by the store. It is useful for storing additional information uniquely for
each product and Variants.

Yes, this needs to be hardcoded.
