How To Hide Out Of Stock Products In Search Result Without App in Dawn Theme?

How do I hide sold out items from searches? I have hundreds of products and hiding them after they get sold out manually is just not practical. 
Please help!

The code unfortunately doesn't work for Shopify 2.0 themes. We use dawn theme.
