How to improve slideshow transition smoothness?

Hi, when I try to go to the second slide it gets halfway through the first picture and then loads the second picture. Is there a way to move between slides without the pictures getting halfway through?

Can confirm this same problem on the latest Sense theme (as of today, at least)
