How to navigate back to specific product on collections

Aloha,

We have large collections so when somebody browses a collection and clicks on a product and then uses their browser's "back" button to go back to the collection page, we don't want them to start at the top of the collection page, but bring them back to where they've already scrolled to.

Is there any way in add code so it doesn't lead back to the top of the collection but goes back further down the collection page?

Theme: Turbo by Out of the Sandbox

Any pointers are appreciated.

Hey @benidesign

Welcome to the Shopify Community!

Your theme will need customization to add this feature. The theme code would need to know how many additional pages had been loaded, and repeat that loading process when returning. Once the content is loaded the scripts could move the page down to the bottom of the products.

Shopify has paid experts who will complete custom coding and in-depth customizations for your store for an agreed fee between you both, they are fantastic at helping you achieve what you're after:

I also came across a similar request in another community post where a few experts have provided a coding solution:

Important Coding Reminder: If you make changes to the original code and save the changes, you will not be able to revert back. We always suggest you first duplicate the theme and work in the duplicate. That way you can always go back to your previous version.

Otherwise, how is the rest of your store coming along? I don't know if you have anything planned for BFCM this year, but now is the time to make some preparations. BFCM is one of the biggest sales weekends of the year and sees the start of the holiday season as well. Every year my go-to is this BFCM Checklist. It allows me to make sure that I am making the best use of my time and resources and it really helps take the pressure off by starting early. It is well worth the read should you be interested!
