How to play videos in slideshow without YouTube or Vimeo?

Does anyone know a theme that plays video in the slideshow without using YouTube, Vimeo etc

Hi Wilson.

Mitch here from Clean Canvas themes. Wish I could say our themes do but they don’t. Not seen any themes that have this feature and mainly it’s down to performance. When you have a section like a slideshow, it usually has to load in the images. If you allowed for videos, those also have to try to load in and this can affect and slow down performance since video files tend to be much larger and have more than 1 in a section can mean a lot of heavy lifting.

I personally would rather use Youtube and Vimeo because they better handle this than uploading a file to Shopify because they have much better speeds that won’t impact performance.

Not the answer you were looking for but said would just explain why it may be hard to find a theme that offers this. We have in Symmetry a section called custom content and you can add up to 4 videos in a row if that may interest you.
