how to remove black dots from sale items

There's a big black dot that appears on every product I put on sale. Using Simple theme. Is there a way to remove it without using code? I know nothing about code and I don't want to mess anything up. ( I took a screen shot but I'm a newbie here, I don't see how to attach to message.)
