How to remove gray background when uploading transparent PNG images to "text columns with images"

I'm trying to upload PNG files for "text columns with images" page, but images are all uploading with a gray background. They should have a transparent background. I've looked at other discussions which suggest editing the code under assets, then basis, but my code doesn't have 'basis".

@sparkleathletic There's probably a background color to that image. Share your store URL, I can check and share code to remove that background.

Hi there,

I don't know if your question is still relevant: but I had the same problem and found the solution : ) To turn off the graying out of the images, you have to do it in the theme settings: Colors -> General -> Image Background: Transparent.

This worked! I can't believe how simple the solution is. I looked at lots of forums and solutions and none of them said this. Thank you so much!
